DISASTER. This is one of the last pics I took before my waterproof camera ceased functioning, apparently due to water exposure. I know, right? Thanks alot, Olympus.
Meanwhile, I’m back in Bangkok with a few errands to run, one of which is hopefully buying a new camera. I’m off to Cambodia (specifically Siem Reap) in a few days, then it’s on to Vietnam. More importantly, tomorrow is apparently the king of Thailand’s birthday. Party on, Wayne.
So I’ve been on Koh Tao for the last week. I did a ton of diving, saw a friggin’ whale shark, and got my Advanced Open Water Diver certification, which is a fancy way of saying that I’m a total bad ass and if they ever remake Thunderball, I’m more than qualified to be Bond’s underwater stunt double.
Breakfast of Champions: French Toast w/ honey. Bacon. Tomato slices (?). Vanilla Milkshake. View’s not too shabby, either.
I’ve been on Koh Phangan for nearly a week, and other than a really sweet pair of dives at Sail Rock, I’ve haven’t done anything that doesn’t involve laying down in a hammock or sitting at a bar. It’s been fantastic, but all things must end. Current plan is to head west to Phuket for a few days, then on to Koh Phi Phi.
Banyon Tree Hotel, Bangkok. Incredible. Thanks for the tip, Dani!
360 from the top of Banyan Tree Hotel. Swankiest bar I’ve ever been to.
