My outback trek ended at Uluru (Ayers Rock). The photo doesn’t really do it justice, but (1) I didn’t take it; my camera broke days ago and (2) whatever, just trust me. It’s the religious and spiritual equivalent of Jerusalem for the regional Aboriginal tribes, and it really is an awe-inspiring piece of nature. I did the base walk, which was about 10k’s. I had the option to climb it, but (1) it looked like a super boring climb, and (2) climbing Uluru is uber-disrespectful to the Aboriginal people. It’d essentially be the equivalent of pissing in the holy water at your best friend’s wedding, so I declined.
I was too busy looking for the Dharma station, anyways.
